Country Roads Take Me Home | Gurley, AL

This past weekend the Woodard family laid to rest the beloved grill master of Gurley, Alabama: Cousin Pookie. After the funeral service, we said our final goodbye's at the gravesite, and spent precious time with family at the repast.

After the repast, we continued the fellowship at cousin Sherry's house where our planned day trip turned into a serendipitous family sleep over. The love that we experienced was so tangible that we could hold it in the palm of our hands. We engaged in a ceaseless flow of honest and transparent conversation, belly-laughed, sipped the most decadent coffee, consumed delicious smoothies and nourishing foods, and deeply appreciated each others presence! The following are some important lessons that were reinforced throughout the weekend:

  1. The practice of love is a selfless rhythm of choosing to meet each others needs.

  2. In the country, "Just up the road" can mean a 30 minute drive!

  3. When you live in community with other people, everyone must functionally contribute to the space.

Within the unconditional love of family, we were able to regenerate, replenish, rest, heal, and grow. Gratitude Abounds! #RegenerativeLiving
