Pumpkin: Fall Adventures

I absolutely love the fall! From the rich taste of apple cider doughnuts to the blissful adventure of bumpy hay rides, this time of year is so beautiful to me. On October 12th 2019, I had the time of my life while enjoying a fall festival with some dear friends at a local farm in Connecticut.

Amidst feeding goats, getting buried in dried corn, and climbing tall stacks of hay, I picked a small pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to carve. After carving the pumpkin into my favorite cyclops inspired imagining, I sat back with a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie and a cold glass of milk. Happiness abounds!

While a seasonally appropriate food to eat in the fall, pumpkin has many different health benefits. Within Traditional Chinese Medicine, the medicinal use of pumpkin can address the following conditions: Dysentery, diarrhea, eczema, bladder infections, stomach aches, digestion, hemorrhoids, intestinal worms, parasites, joint pain and swellings due to Dampness (edema, etc.), improves lactation and fertility, benefit postpartum fluid metabolism (especially hand and feet swelling). Some say it is an antidote for opium. [1]

You are now empowered to change, transform, grow, and be the most excellent version of yourself that you can see! Below is a recap video of the incredible time spend at the October 2019 fall festival, and here is a step-by-step recipe of how to make a fresh pot of Jamaican pumpkin soup. #NourishWithIntention
